It is true that London is a very unequal city, and has become much more unequal over the last 30 years, and that this rise in inequality is due at least in part to aspects of the capital’s economy. But inequality is one thing and poverty is another. Even in the most unequal city in the UK there is no reason why any child should be in poverty.
