Wandsworth is one of the less deprived boroughs in London; it is the 23rd most deprived borough in London and has only the 22nd highest level of child poverty ( out of the 32 boroughs in the capital). However, Wandsworth contains pockets of extreme deprivation causing social polarisation¹.
Particular issues that Wandsworth faces include high crime rates and low life expectancy. Problems of disadvantage in health and the living environment are significant drivers of deprivation in the borough².
