The evening started with a set by the Mamasets, a youth rock band, who brought the house down with their performance to delegates, ministers, End Child Poverty members and visitors alike.
This was followed by speeches from both Bob Reitemeier, Chief Executive for The Children’s Society, and Rt. Hon. Ed Balls MP both of whom reaffirmed the need for the Government to keep their promise of a generation and end child poverty.
The reception, hosted by Barnardo’s, NSPCC, Save the Children, The Children’s Society and Action for Children, created an exciting buzz about the event on October 4th and provided keen campaigners with whistles, T-shirts and postcards in preparation for the rally.
