
By now, we're sure you know that we're inviting 10,000 people to join us in Trafalgar Square on October 4th to tell the government to keep the promise of a generation: end child poverty. We want this event to be attended by thousands of children and young people on a family day to remember.
Details of role:
The role will involve the following • We would like you to arrive at Millbank Pier (maps will be provided) at 10:30am on October 4th. • You’ll be provided with a steward tabard, wristband and a full briefing before proceeding to Millbank to assist in stewarding people (both as they gather and on the march). • On reaching Trafalgar Square you will work under the supervision of the professional steward company SFM. • The day will finish at 4pm.
This position will allow the candidate to gain an enjoyable and valuable experience within a highly regarded national campaign. As well as working closely with a team of 70 volunteers, demonstrating a commitment to end child poverty will add breadth to your C.V.
Your contribution will be essential to the success of the day!
Location: The march will take place from Millbank to Trafalgar Square.
Date Needed: Saturday October 4th 2008.
Hours: 10:30am until 4pm.
Attitude/ skills/ knowledge required: Passionate about ending child poverty in the UK. Responsible character. Good communication skills and confident manner. Previous experience NOT required.
Support available: A full briefing on the campaign and event will be provided both in an optional pre-rally evening training session and on the day (if you are unable to attend the evening session).
On the day you will be assigned to a team. Each team will have a designated leader who will guide and support you throughout the day.
