In 1999 the Government pledged to halve child poverty by 2010 and eradicate it by 2020. The 2010 interim target will now be missed and the 2020 target may now be in doubt unless sufficient funding is put in place soon.
You can help us to keep the pressure on the Government by visiting your local MP.
Local constituents can strongly influence their MP, as ultimately, it is the voters who decide if MPs keep their job, so it is important that they listen to what you have to say.
You can arrange to meet your MP either at their office or in their Constituency surgeries by contacting their offices. To help you prepare, we've included links to basic information:

What do we want MPs to do?
MPs can help raise awareness that child poverty does exist in the UK by speaking out on the issue, raising questions about the huge disparity between the incomes of the rich and poor, challenging attitudes to poverty and talking about what needs to be done to eradicate it.
End Child Poverty Champion MPs can help by speaking out in the media, mentioning child poverty in speeches, interviews or by asking a Parliamentary question..

- Write in their local papers to raise the issue across their consituencies.
